Golf is one of the most asymmetric sports when it comes to core muscle usage. This imbalance not only affects performance but also leads to a range of musculoskeletal issues, especially in the back.
The repetitive nature of swinging in a single direction causes one side of the core to overwork, leading to an imbalance that often results in hip misalignment. This misalignment restricts optimal hip rotation during the swing, often reducing drive distance. More concerning, however, is that it can cause compression in the lower vertebrae, leading to disc bulges or ruptures. If you've been golfing for over a decade, you've likely experienced some back issues.
The good news is that these problems are preventable and correctable. I developed a core muscle imbalance training program over ten years ago, proven to restore full body function and prevent back issues.
